A 44-year-old woman was killed on Tuesday after her Dodge Neon crossed into a middle lane of traffic and collided with another car near the Brown Road and Pasadena, according to Mesa police.

The deceased woman, whose name was not released pending notification of relatives, was traveling west on Brown Road shortly after 2 p.m. near Hohokam Stadium and was attempting to turn south on Pasadena, but was struck by another vehicle when her car went into the other lane, according to Detective Mike Melendez, a Mesa police spokesman.

The woman died at the scene, Melendez said.

The driver of the other vehicle, a 20-year-old man, and his passenger, a 19-year-old woman, suffered minor injuries.

Speeding was not a factor in the crash, and it was not known whether the woman was wearing her seatbelt.
