Gold Bar Espresso first opened its doors in the Valley in 1994, but it’s this week that the independent coffeehouse is celebrating its 10th anniversary.

That’s because despite an 18-year run as one of the oldest independent coffee locales in the greater phoenix area, this week marks the 10th year at its current location at Southern and McClintock in Tempe.

As part of its Guest Appreciation Month celebration during June, Gold Bar, which exclusively features Allann Bros. coffee, served free cups of coffee all last week and will be offering “retro” prices on select beverages this week (June 24-30). While art and live jazz music are regular occurrences, guest appreciation celebration is scheduled for 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. June 30th with free cake, live music, games and prizes.

Nice to see something besides empty, gated up shopping centers, tatoo parlors, marijuana/crack/spice supply stores and filthy Circle K's. Congratulations on doing something right.
