Gas prices dropped for the seventh straight week in Arizona last week, just in time for Memorial Day weekend travel.

Arizona motorists were paying $3.760 per gallon Thursday, a drop of 3.6 cents from the week prior. East Valley drivers saw a 4.2 cent drop in pump prices — down to $3.741 per gallon — while nationwide, the price of fuel shed 4.6 cents to $3.676.

The price of crude briefly dropped below $90 per barrel, a seven-month low for the commodity. The decrease in pump prices is a direct reflection of crude’s price drop.

While fuel prices have fallen to an 11-week low, Arizonans hitting the road this weekend will be met with the highest prices in Memorial Day history.

Tucson and Flagstaff hold the low and high state fuel averages at $3.628 and $3.883 per gallon, respectively. South Carolina and Connecticut hold the low and high price extremes for the lower 48 states at $3.315 and $4.311 per gallon, respectively.
