Retail Corridor: ‘Upscale boutique’ retail center planned in Gilbert

A 387,000 square-foot retail center described as “upscale boutique” is planned for the southeast corner of Val Vista Drive and Williams Field Road in Gilbert.

Town officials are consulting with the developer, and a pre-application document from its design review department revealed few details on the project.

Officials at Scottsdale-based Lamb Architects, the company listed as the contact by the town, were unavailable for comment Thursday.

STARBUCKS REDUX

It was 10 years ago that the first Starbucks Coffee shop opened in Arizona.

The shop, at the Scottsdale Town Center at Scottsdale Road and Frank Lloyd Wright, recently underwent renovations and reopened again Wednesday.

NEW KINKO’S

A FedEx Kinko’s Office and Print Center hosted a grand opening at 3765 S. Gilbert Road in Gilbert.

The store is part of a nationwide expansion by the company which will have 300 new stores by the end of May.

The new store has a smaller format but a wider selection of office products and other services. Company officials said the new stores have shipping and packing stations, 700 office products and notary public service among other things.

AUTO REPAIR SHOP

A Sun Devil Auto repair shop is planned for the southwest corner of Higley and Ocotillo roads in Gilbert.

The shop would be the second Sun Devil Auto in Gilbert. Another is at 915 S. Val Vista Drive.

The family-owned Sun Devil Auto company has 20 locations in the Valley.

TEXAS ROADHOUSE

A Texas Roadhouse is planned for the northwest corner of Power and Ray Roads in Gilbert. The Kentucky-based casual dining restaurant chain serves steaks, ribs, chicken, fish and other dishes and has 270 restaurants in 44 states.
