The Salt River Project is giving away desert adapted shade trees to homes around the Valley to reduce energy costs and improve air quality.

The trees will range from 4 to 6 feet in height and come in a 5-gallon container.

SRP customers will receive two to three trees depending on the age of their home. They must attend a workshop to learn how to properly plant and care for their trees.

The trees must be planted on the south, west and east sides of a home and be within 15 feet of exposed exterior walls and windows.

For more information, visit savewithsrp.com or call (602) 325-1254.

As an SRP customer, am I paying for this "giveaway?" I'd be interested in knowing how this was funded.

Don't be a whiner, TS, just attend the workshop and get a couple of trees!
