Mesa businesses located along the light-rail corridor will receive a one-year free membership to the Mesa Chamber of Commerce paid for by the Downtown Mesa Association.

According to a press release, Downtown Mesa hopes to offer more than 70 businesses a free membership to the chamber, due in part to the chamber’s decision to offer a discount for the organization. The partnership between the two organizations came about after Downtown Mesa offered businesses along that corridor a 50-percent reduction in special improvement district assessment during the next two years of light-rail construction.

“The DMA and Mesa Chamber have worked closely for years, but it has always had a relatively low membership from businesses in the DMA district. This (offer) gives us an opportunity to show the value and benefits of what being a member of the Mesa Chamber can do for them” said chamber president and CEO Sally Harrison.
