Learn more about desert landscaping in August when the University of Arizona’s Cooperative Extension Service and Arizona Municipal Water Users Association bring their Smartscape training and certification program to Chandler City Hall.

Smartscape teaches the skills to plan, create, and care for water-efficient landscapes in the desert Southwest. The eight-class series will be every Monday and Wednesday from 3 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 6 through Wednesday, Aug. 29 in the city hall second-floor training room, 175 S. Arizona Ave.

Registration is $75 and participants will receive a Smartscape manual, instruction from experts in the green industry, plus snacks and refreshments. Registration forms can be printed by downloading a copy from extension.arizona.edu/maricopa/smartscape-program. More information is available by contacting Haley Paul, Smartscape program coordinator, at hepaul@cals.arizona.edu or (602) 827-8200, Ext. 395.
