McCarthy Building Companies, Inc., is seeking applications for its annual grants that are awarded to nonprofits that support children and families experiencing dramatic economic need.

The contractor’s community involvement arm, McCarthy Heart Hats, will accept applications from 501(c)3 organizations in Maricopa County through Aug. 31. Grant criteria includes that assistance targets children and families in the Valley, the applicant is encouraged to describe a specific project or initiative that the funds would go toward and that the organization must demonstrate a need that is not being addressed because of financial challenges.

For more information, go to www.mccarthy.com/news.

McCarthy has donated more than $2 million in financial support in recent years to organizations that include Habitat for Humanity of Central Arizona, Mesa Association of Sports for the Disabled, Maggie’s Place and Tempe/Kyrene Communities in Schools. McCarthy is the nation’s oldest, privately held construction firms and the second-largest contractor in the Southwest.
