Medical technologies giant Cardinal Health, which is based in Ohio but has a large operation in Chandler, said it has acquired Biotech, which operates nuclear pharmacies and other facilities in the Southwest.
A Phoenix pharmacy is one of six included in the purchase, said Troy Kirkpatrick, Cardinal Health spokesman.
Cardinal Health's operations include nearly 160 nuclear pharmacies and 26 PET (positron emission tomography) radiopharmaceutical manufacturing facilities.
The company's Chandler campus serves as a major medical products distribution center and is not impacted by the acquisition, Kirkpatrick said.
"I see no significant impact to employment levels in the Phoenix area," he said.
