Both of the above comments have merit. I would limit public access to the parents of those kids doing the texting, the parents whose kids receive the texting, and of course the police.

I agree - this is a good idea. Considering the phone I got my son for emergencies, a flip phone from a prepaid carrier Tracfone, doesn't allow for any type of monitoring software to be installed. The only way I can monitor him, so to speak, with this carrier is by limiting his minutes/texting via the bi-monthly aircards I load to the phone. I would appreciate having more access.

Yep, and while they are at it, they can pass a bill making their text messages available to the public since we are undoubtedly paying their bills.
