Job title: Program Director at The Little Gym of Gilbert; What are your main duties? “Teach high-energy, fun gymnastics classes for kids between 4 months and 12 years old;

communicate The Little Gym philosophy of helping kids develop motor skills and selfconfidence in a noncompetitive environment; train instructors and maintain a positive, fun environment for staff and members.”

“I love seeing a child’s face when they master a skill that they have been working on. I also enjoy watching their parent’s face when they see what their child can accomplish.”

How did you get your job?

“I’ve always known that I wanted to work with kids, so I earned a bachelor’s degree in rehabilitation counseling. After working with autistic children for a number of years, I started working for The Little Gym in New Jersey 12 years ago. After moving to Florida, I continued working at The Little Gym. My husband and I decided to move our family to Arizona in March 2006 to be closer to family and I naturally went to The Little Gym Web site to look for job openings. Two weeks after moving here, I started here at The Little Gym of Gilbert.”

What do you like best?

“I love seeing a child’s face when they master a skill that they have been working on. I also enjoy watching their parent’s face when they see what their child can accomplish. To know that I can make a difference in a child’s life and really help build their self-esteem makes my job the perfect fit for me!”
