Spirit Airlines, which kicked off its Phoenix-Mesa Gateway service last month when it began routes to and from Las Vegas, began service Thursday between the East Valley and Dallas/Fort Worth.
Spirit began its Valley service with routes between Phoenix-Mesa and Las Vegas last month; in all, Spirit wills serve more than 30 cities throughout the U.S., Caribbean and Latin America from Gateway.
Spirit is commemorating the introduction of the new routes with $28.79 fares — a $9 base fair plus taxes and fees for select flights between Gateway and Dallas/Fort Worth. The $28.79 flights from Phoenix-Mesa to Dallas/Fort Worth are available March 24, March 26, March 27, March 31, April 4 and April 7, and from Dallas/Fort Worth to Gateway on March 29, March 30, April 1, April 7, April 8 and April 10. The under-$30 one-way fares must be purchased by the end of the day today (March 23).
The current schedule has daily nonstop flights departing Gateway at 12:45 a.m. and arriving in Dallas/Fort Worth at 5 a.m. Flights from Dallas/Fort Worth to Mesa depart at 11 p.m. and arrive at 11:15 p.m.
Spirit Airlines offers “ultra low base fares with a range of optional services for a fee, allowing customers the freedom to choose only the extras they value,” according to a news release. For complete schedule and fair information or to book flights, visit www.spirit.com.

I'm very glad that the airport is doing well. Good luck to all of those who are adding to their sucess.
