Scottsdale's Ecotality buys Minit-Charger

Scottsdale-based Ecotality announced Friday it will acquire Minit-Charger for $3 million.

Minit-Charger is a subsidiary of Edison International.

The company provides a fast battery charging system for forklifts and other material handling equipment.

With the acquisition, Ecotality has purchased four companies with combined 12 month revenue of $14.55 million.

Jonathan Read, company CEO, said Ecotality is committed to commercial development of fast charging battery and clean electric propulsion systems.

Ecotality is a renewable energy company.
