A Staples store has opened at 1850 S. Signal Butte Road in Mesa. The office supply store will sell more than 7,000 products and also will feature a copy and printing center.
Company officials said the location, which is the sixth to open in Mesa, will employ about 30 people.
EXTENDED HOURS
Ippei Japanese Bistro at 7000 E. Mayo Blvd. in Scottsdale has extended its hours of operation to serve lunch.
The restaurant, near Scottsdale Road and Loop 101, has only served dinner since its opening in June.
The restaurant recently began opening its doors at 11 a.m. for lunch.
TONER RECYCLING STORES
Rapid Refill Ink, an Oregonbased inkjet and laser toner cartridge recycling franchise, will open five locations in the East Valley.
A news release from company officials didn’t say where the new stores would be located, but said they are part of a nationwide rollout of 150 stores in 2007 and 2008.
The four-year-old company, which is based in Eugene, Ore., said it will have more than 1,000 locations throughout the U.S.
AAA DISCOUNTS
The American Automobile Association said only 4 percent of its members are aware of member discounts at places such as Circuit City, Barnes & Noble and Target.
The group said members saved $28 million by using the discounts during the holidays.
‘RE-GIFTING’ FAVORED
A poll by Zogby Interactive showed that 63 percent of respondents say that giving a present designated for you to another person, or “re-gifting,” is a perfectly legitimate form of gift giving.
The survey of 12,806 adults showed that older participants frowned upon re-gifting.
Forty percent of those over 70 years old said it showed bad taste while 69 percent of respondents between 25 and 34 years old view re-gifting positively
The survey went on to say that 20 percent of respondents making more than $100,000 a year say they re-gift while only 15 percent of those making under $25,000 a year admitted to re-gifting.
