A new audio app that allows sports fanatics to control what games they listen to at bars is making its way across the East Valley.
HearTV is a free app for iPhone or Android users to listen to TVs inside noisy businesses like bars, restaurants, hotels, resorts or fitness centers. While a focus of the app is for sports fans, HearTV allows users to watch both the local and national news.
In order to use the app, users must be in a location that is part of the HearTV zone, which requires businesses to install it. The app is available at restaurants across the Valley, including Diamond’s Sports Grill and Cactus Moon in Mesa; CK’s Tavern in Ahwatukee; Jersey D’s Tavern and Grill in Chandler; and Devil’s Advocate Bar and Grill in Tempe.
The app can be downloaded through the App Store or Google Play. Once users launch the app, a list of “active” TVs will show up to select from on the HearTV Wi-Fi. Customers can select any of those televisions to hear the audio directly from their phone or through headphones or small speakers.
HearTV President Amre Morsy said the app is used to create the best customer experience possible. He said he wanted to create an app where the user can control the volume and what they are watching, not distract others around them.
HearTV plans on expanding to casinos, clubs and airports, said Morsy. For more information, visit www.heartv.com.
