With the price of fuel at a multi-year year high, Arizona drivers are running on empty, and in many cases, running out of gas altogether. According to AAA Arizona, calls for fuel delivery are up 13.8 percent compared to last year.
As a Roadside Assistance benefit, AAA delivers an emergency fuel supply to members should they run out. January 2012 saw a 9 percent jump in calls compared to January 2011.
That rose to 19 percent in February when comparing the number of calls in February 2011 (592) to February 2012 (707).
AAA recommends motorists avoid letting the fuel level get below a quarter tank of gas to avoid being stranded and keep the fuel pump working efficiently. Also note if the vehicle is using more fuel than normal. It may mean a repair is needed.

Yet, Queen Michelle is on her 17th vacation to Mount Rushmore and Las Vegas. In addition, her daughters were in Mexico last week with 25 Secret Service agents. Then, Michelle is hosting a fundraiser in San Francisco after finishing a two-day vacation to South Dakota and Las Vegas. It's comforting to know that the first lady is living it up on our dime while the rest of us struggle to pay for gasoline to get to work and back. Harkens to the days of King Louie and Marie Antoinette.
