The Walking Company, a shoe retailer with 140 mall locations nationwide, opened a store at the Chandler Fashion Center at Chandler Boulevard and Loop 101.
The 1,500-square-foot store, which will sell several types of footwear including dress shoes, sandals, clogs and boots,is the Valley’s fi fth location.
The Walking Company sells brands, including ECCO, Mephisto, Dansko, and Merrell.
NEW DESIGN STORE
Nicholas Homes opened a showroom at 7625 E. Redfi eld Road in Scottsdale.It features appliances, fl ooring, cabinets, lighting and fi xtures among other home design products.
The 6,7000 square-foot sales floor will include mock-ups that showcase appliances and products for kitchens, bathrooms and garages.
Nicholas Homes has more than 40 communities and 15 that are in the design or construction phase throughout the state.
NEW DOLLAR STORE
Dollar Tree Stores, a chain of discount retailers that sell merchandise under one dollar, opened a new location at 4005 E. Chandler Blvd. in Phoenix. The new 7,600-square-foot store and will feature a variety of housewares, food, toys and other merchandise.
SPA TREATMENT
A new spa called Fuchsia will hold its grand opening Friday at 1854 S. Val Vista Drive in Mesa.The store will offer free massages, beauty consultations and a variety of free products.

Most shoppers are planning to sit it out on Black Friday
Only one in three consumers are planning to shop on the day after Thanksgiving according to a consumer polling fi rm.
Maritz Research found that 61 percent of respondents planned to avoid stores on the day known by retailers as Black Friday.
Those planning to shop, one-third said they will spend more than $875 on gifts, and 17 percent said they would spend over $1,000.
