Arizona Public Service said Wednesday it is seeking proposals for two new renewable energy projects in Arizona, one for a new source of photovoltaic solar energy and the other for wind power.
The request for proposals seeks projects of between 15 and 50 megawatts each and employing commercially proven technologies, the utility said.
APS would receive the electricity produced by the projects through long-term power purchase agreements.
A bidders conference is scheduled for March 17 to discuss the request for proposals.
APS is operating under a mandate from the Arizona Corporation Commission to obtain 15 percent of its electricity from renewable sources by 2025.
