East Valley resident and developer Michael Pollack was honored last week by Goodwill of Central Arizona as the organization’s 2012 ‘business partner of the year.’
Through the years, Pollack has donated the equivalent of close to $1 million to the organization in cash, discounted or free rent, and other in-kind contributions.
The biggest, according to a press release, came in 2010 when Pollack contributed a $250,000 check to Goodwill of Central Arizona — the largest donation the regional outlet has received to date.
“I believe in what Goodwill stands for and that is simply putting people back to work,” Pollack said. “So it is very easy for me to continue giving to an organization that is truly making a difference in our community.”
Added Jim Teter, president and CEO of Goodwill of Central Arizona: “We’re proud to call Michael Pollack a business partner and even more proud to recognize him as our 2012 Business Partner of the Year. Michael is a community leader and an outstanding example of someone helping Arizona be a better place to live and work. We are tremendously grateful for his continued dedication to our mission of Putting People to Work and thank him for making a huge difference for Goodwill and our clients.”
