The average price of gas in Arizona held relatively steady since last week, with East Valley drivers paying the least, according to AAA Arizona, which tracks fluctuations.
Motorists in the East Valley, which includes Mesa, Gilbert, Chandler, Queen Creek and Apache Junction, are paying 1 cent less for a gallon of regular unleaded gas this week — $1.83. Statewide, drivers are also paying 1 cent less at $1.92 a gallon.
The nation’s average was unchanged at $2.05 a gallon.
AAA officials say a rally in prices is unlikely in the near future, citing decreased demand and large oil and gasoline reserves among other factors.
