Eatza Pizza, which features an all-you-want pizza buffet plus pasta, salad and dessert, plans to open a Scottsdale restaurant at 8680 E. Raintree Drive in the Kohl’s shopping center.
It is expected to start cooking in late March.
The restaurant will serve as a national training facility for the Scottsdale-based company’s franchisees, Eatza Pizza president Ron Stilwell said.
SUPER SIZED
The long-awaited Super-Target is scheduled to arrive in Gilbert — and Arizona — March 6.
SuperTarget is the popular retailer’s combo supermarket and discount department store, similar to the Wal-Mart Supercenter.
The state’s first two stores are targeted for the 80-acre Gilbert Gateway Towne Center, which is south of the planned southern leg of Loop 202 stretching along the west side of Power Road to south of Ray Road, and for Crossroads Towne Center, the underconstruction 1.3 millionsquare-foot shopping and entertainment project that straddles the Gilbert Road border of Gilbert and Chandler, south of Loop 202.
Here are some other scheduled opening dates at Crossroads: Pier I Imports and Ross Dress for Less are scheduled to open March 1, Linens ’N Things on March 4, Famous Footwear on March 10.
Several of those stores and others could soft open earlier.
DESIGN AND DINE
Here’s a novel way to start up a restaurant.
Dos Gringos Family of Casual Restaurants, which owns Scottsdale hot spots Dos Gringos, Sugar Daddy’s and Bada Boom Pasta Room, was forced out of its popular Tempe location because it was too much bar and too little restaurant.
The company just got the Tempe property back after neighbor Flip Flops’ expansion into the space flopped.
Now Dos Gringos is inviting the public to help design a new eatery for the property — emphasis on eatery, not drinkery. Anybody who has a winning idea for the space can submit that suggestion via e-mail to ideas@dosgringos az.com or deliver it in person to Sugar Daddy’s, 3102 N. Scottsdale Road in Scottsdale.
