Employees of Tempe-based US Airways will wear pink and participate in the Phoenix “Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk” in the next few weeks to support National Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

The efforts are being made to raise funds for the American Cancer Society, according to a news release. A portion of each BE PINK uniform and branded item purchase will be donated to the American Cancer Society. A few items are available at usairwaysstore.com

“For many of us, cancer has struck close to home. We have been touched by someone who fights this disease in its various forms,” Elise Eberwein, executive vice president of the company’s People, Communications and Public Affairs, said in the release. “And it’s because of this fight that many of our fellow employees have been inspired to participate in an initiative to take action.”
