Macy's department store will open its first Gilbert location in March.
The New York-based retailer plans a grand opening event March 20 for the one-level, 120,000-square-foot store in SanTan Village.

For $10, members of the public can purchase tickets for a March 19 store preview where they will get discounts of 10 percent to 20 percent off most merchandise. The revenue will go to charity.
Sheila Hunter, mall property manager, said the opening will mark a major moment in SanTan's development.
"We've been anticipating the opening of Macy's since our grand opening, so we can't wait for them to open," she said.
Dillard's department store also anchors the mall at Loop 202 and Williams Field Road.
Jennifer Munn, SanTan Village's marketing director, said there is still space available at the mall, which opened in late 2007.
"We'll probably be making some announcements ... within a month or so," she said.
