Last Tuesday a new breed of luxury sedan was unveiled at Fiesta Lincoln Mercury of Mesa. The all new 2009 Lincoln MKS was revealed to the public, locally, for the first time.

This new brand of Lincoln is a full-size luxury car designed to aggressively grab the attention of younger car buyers. Priced at under $38,000 the ’09 MKS has been designed with classic lines rather than the latest trends. It has many upgrades of high tech features any car enthusiast will love, like a 4 gig hard drive and 10 gig “jukebox” that’s able to download 2,300 songs for your favorite road trip or commute. The new technology sported by the ’09 MKS includes a high tech version of cruise-control. Not only can you set the cruise control for highway speeds but also the distance you want to keep from the vehicles in front of you.

One of the latest and greatest innovations being debuted with the Lincoln MKS is the gas tank. In today’s world of astronomical gas prices, filling a gas tank has to be safe and secure. There is no gas cap on the MKS. It has a spring loaded gas opening that can only be opened by the nozzle of a gas pump. You can’t push your finger, for instance, into the gas opening and siphon fuel. It can only be opened by pushing down a traditional gas pump nozzle.

Style-wise, the 2009 Lincoln MKS has a double-wing grill that wraps around the fascia of the front of the car. A swept-up tail covers the rear wheel and from the side the MKS looks like an aggressive luxury sports car. Inside the MKS the interior has a brand new design as well. A symmetrical instrument panel, a flow-through center stack with integrated information screen, couples with a padded center console to envelope the driver in high-tech luxury. The rear of the cabin is the roomiest available at Lincoln Mercury and comes with heated rear seats, an overhead skylight and rear sunshade round available to ensure rear seat passengers are just as comfortable as those sitting up front.

The MKS comes with a 3.7 liter V6 engine equipped with 270 horsepower and 265 lb.-ft. torque. The MKS comes with an automatic transmission or as a stick shift.

Thinking ahead, Lincoln Mercury engineers designed the engine with gasoline turbo direct injection technology which is able to deliver the same power as an eight cylinder engine but with a big gas savings. Technology abounds in this sporty luxury vehicle complete with Ford SYNC blue tooth technology, voice-activated navigation system, and a premium stereo system. The 2009 MKS will be on sale and in stock by the end of July at Fiesta Lincoln Mercury, near the US 60 freeway and Mesa Drive. Fiesta Lincoln Mercury knows the east valley community. They’ve been part of the east valley for the past 20 years and over a decade at this location.
