Beverly Hills, Calif.-based cupcake shop Sprinkles is getting ready to open its long-awaited Scottsdale store.
The latest — but the owner says finally firm — scheduled debut date is Wednesday in a just-completed multiuse building on the northeast corner of Scottsdale and Camelback roads.
Owner Victoria Stein has been trying to start baking for months, but the building didn’t get finished as soon as expected. Baked fresh throughout the day without trans fats, preservatives or additives, Sprinkles cupcakes will be available in more than 20 flavors, Stein said.
Across the street from those upcoming downtown shops, there have been big changes at Scottsdale Fashion Square.
Quicksilver opened next door to sister store Roxy. That’s on the second level near Neiman Marcus. Hip jeans and T-shirt shop Hostile moved from just east of Macy’s to the upper-level Nordstrom wing.
King & Duck, which sells trendy men’s casual clothing, shoes and hats, opened on the upper floor near Nordstrom. The store carries hip-hop, surfer and other styles that appeal to the young.
Appealing to all is the Gap, except it’s no longer “the” but “three” of the growing brand. Baby Gap stayed in place in the youngest shoppers’ section of the mall — upstairs in the Nordstrom wing.
Other Gap stores had to close and relocate to make way for stores like Puma and A/X Armani Exchange, which are coming soon. Back-to-basics Gap Adult opened last weekend in the upper-level Nordstrom wing.
Gap Body opened on level two between Macy’s and the Barney’s New York wing under construction.
BeDazzled Gallery, which sells glass art and jewelry, just opened on the second level near Dillard’s. The shop moved from Biltmore Fashion Park to Scottsdale Fashion Square.
Makeup store Bare Escentuals is scheduled to open today on the second level between Papyrus and the Metropolitan Museum of Art store.Six Star Brazilian recently debuted on the upper level of the still-standing stub leading to the soon-to-be Barney’s wing. It features Brazilian Fashions for women and men including labels Guarana Brasil, Colcci, Six Star, Blue Man, Ellus, Iodice, Folic, Havaianas and Disritmia.
