Veterans’ representatives are available to provide priority employment and training services as well as referrals to specialized services including benefits, disability assistance, occupational training, financial aid, and career counseling.
Career guidance specialists can help veterans (1) identify high demand occupations in the local labor market; (2) obtain civilian translation of current skill sets; (3) obtain information on a variety of education and training programs that best complement current skills; and (4) select the most appropriate and affordable post-secondary educational opportunities.
By visiting a MWC One Stop Career Center, a veteran can access numerous programs and services throughout the metropolitan region including the Veterans Administration, Veterans Upward Bound, and ASU’s Educational Opportunity Center. Veterans can also obtain assistance in applying for benefits and filing benefits claims.
In addition, the One Stop Career Center provides workshops on resume writing, interviewing techniques, current labor market information, and job search strategies as well as other tools addressing all areas of job search.
