For years Mercury was the car company that provided sedans that were roomy amd prized comfort and practical over exterior styling and driver fun. Then along came the Mercury Milan! The 2007 Milan signaled a change in direction for Mercury. Aiming towards the younger driver, the Milan was built on the framework of the Mazda 6 platform. Gone is the bland styling of previous Mercury sedans and welcome the arrival of the new, aggressively styled exterior and high performance package of the ’07 Mercury Milan!

The Milan is a midsized Mercury which is still very roomy inside. That’s where comparisons to the old style Mercury ends. The new Milan has crisply tailored body work, designed to get the younger drivers attention. The Milan, with its finely tuned suspension is even a big player on the back roads of America. And starting this model year Mercury has made standard all the basic safety features available on cars today; ABS brakes, front-seat side airbags, and full-length curtain airbags. As an option all-wheel drive is available on the Milan making it a cost-friendly alternative to the traditional SUV.

The aggressively designed Milan comes available in two body styles; the base and the Premier. The base model comes equipped with 16 inch wheels, air conditioning, a six-speaker CD stereo with an auxiliary jack for an MP3 player. This model also comes with 6-way power seat and folding split rear seats, cruise control, keyless entry, and analog clock. Quite a few standards for a base model, eh? Step up to the “Premier” Milan and you also get 17 inch alloy wheels, automatic headlights, automatic climate control, leather seats, an in-dash CD changer, steering wheel mounted audio controls, an auto-dimming rear view mirror, heated side mirrors, and approach lamps. As an option on the Premier model you can also get a DVD navigation system, an upgraded sound system, Sirrius Satellite radio, a moonroof, a rear spoiler, and more.

The Milan’s base engine comes with a 2.3 four cylinder engine for 160 horsepower, with an optional 221 horsepower, V6 engine available on the Premier. These models come standard with a five speed manual transmission or an optional automatic. Front wheel drive is standard on the Milan but all-wheel drive is an option for the Premier models.

In safety, the Milan gets four out of five possible stars by the NHTSA for driver and front passenger protection in frontal-impact crashes. In side crashes the Milan earned five stars for front passengers and four stars for rear. Inside the Milan the interior looks like an IKEA design with a two-tone décor and solid quality materials. With responsive handling, a very quiet ride, roominess and a sporty exterior, the Milan certain has helped Mercury turn the corner towards a new car buying audience. Come take a test drive of the new Milan by Mercury at Tempe Lincoln Mercury, 7777 S. Test Drive.

This past weekend almost 200 kids were very excited to receive Cardinals football tickets give-away sponsored by Arizona Ford dealers, Berge Ford, and the Grant Woods Boys & Girls Club of Mesa. The event featured pizza, prize giveaways, soft drinks, raffles, and games. The pro-football game the kids will actually attend will be the big November 25th game when the Arizona Cardinals face the San Francisco 49’ers at the brand new Glendale (University of Phoenix) stadium. Come stop by Berge Ford in Chandler, Five Star Ford in Scottsdale or any Valley Ford dealer and see why they have become such a welcome and important part of the Phoenix community (and test drive a new 2007 Ford while you’re there!).
