A Nike factory outlet opens this weekend at Arizona Mills mall in Tempe. The 13,320-square-foot store kicks off its Valley debut with a ribbon cutting at 9 a.m. Friday.
It’s the Valley’s first Nike outlet store and it’s located at Entry 2 across from Mikasa at Arizona Mills. Don’t forget to hit my favorite East Valley Ross store at Arizona Mills while you’re there. It may be crowded and messy, but it’s good stuff.

Tired of last year’s lawn furniture? Paddock Pools’ newest store at Desert Ridge Marketplace, at Loop 101 and Tatum Boulevard, has the solution. The 13,500-squarefoot showroom just opened and has all sorts of furniture, toys and trinkets for backyard fun. And if you don’t have a pool or spa, the store’s staff will be more than happy to design, build and install one to fit your tastes and budget. Turn on the misters.
And fire up the grill — Outdoor Kitchen Concepts can bring your cooking poolside, with its stainless steel modular grill systems. The company just opened a second East Valley store in Chandler at 2580 W. Chandler Blvd., Suite 11. The store is celebrating its first anniversary in Scottsdale at its 15730 Pima Road location.
