A Nike factory outlet opens this weekend at Arizona Mills mall in Tempe. The 13,320-square-foot store kicks off its Valley debut with a ribbon cutting at 9 a.m. Friday.

It’s the Valley’s first Nike outlet store and it’s located at Entry 2 across from Mikasa at Arizona Mills. Don’t forget to hit my favorite East Valley Ross store at Arizona Mills while you’re there. It may be crowded and messy, but it’s good stuff.

Forget Cinco de Mayo. Can you believe it’s been 15 years for Z’Tejas at Scottsdale Fashion Square? Celebrate the restaurant’s anniversary 6 to 10 p.m. Sunday with music, margaritas and signature Z’Tejas dishes to benefit the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Only at the Scottsdale Fashion Square restaurant. Tickets cost $40 and can be bought online at

Speaking of Scottsdale, Estilo Boutique is now open at the Scottsdale Waterfront. The store, 7135 E. Camelback Road, Suite 185, joins its sister store at Kierland Commons and features clothing and accessories from up-andcoming designers.

With a 30-foot catwalk, the boutique’s quarterly trunk shows at the Waterfront are sure to be a hit. See one at 7 p.m. Saturday as part of the store’s grand opening celebration. Designer Rachel Pally is the featured guest. Reservations are required and seating is limited. Call (480) 664-0365.

Tired of last year’s lawn furniture? Paddock Pools’ newest store at Desert Ridge Marketplace, at Loop 101 and Tatum Boulevard, has the solution. The 13,500-squarefoot showroom just opened and has all sorts of furniture, toys and trinkets for backyard fun. And if you don’t have a pool or spa, the store’s staff will be more than happy to design, build and install one to fit your tastes and budget. Turn on the misters.

And fire up the grill — Outdoor Kitchen Concepts can bring your cooking poolside, with its stainless steel modular grill systems. The company just opened a second East Valley store in Chandler at 2580 W. Chandler Blvd., Suite 11. The store is celebrating its first anniversary in Scottsdale at its 15730 Pima Road location.

Take a timeout and book lunch at L’Ecole, the studentrun restaurant that’s part of the Scottsdale Culinary Institute. L’Ecole has a new look thanks to a winter renovation project. Done in a French bistro motif, the intimate restaurant serves up three- and fivecourse meals that range from $20 to $40. The restaurant, 8100 E. Camelback Road, Scottsdale, serves lunch and dinner and is just east of Hayden Road. Reservations are recommended, but not required. Call (480) 425-3111.
