Turley-Hansen: Being us requires more smarts than humans seem to have these days

I wish we could count on the message of the Christ child to bring peace to the land; to elevate concerns for our fellow souls to the top of our gift lists. I wish mentally ill shooters of children and crazies who hammer innocent motorists to death never were. I wish ignorant, opportunistic looters would go poof in the night. I’m not sure that mankind is any more civilized than 2000 years ago, though we think we’re smarter than ever.

Take me Home: Tessa’s charms are subtle, but irresistible

Tessa, a 3-year-old sweet, gentle, affectionate gal, is happiest when spending time with her people. She has beautiful, bunny-soft fur that you just can’t keep from petting over and over again. That’s OK though — this type of behavior is encouraged by Tessa, considering she loves attention and loves to be petted. Tessa especially enjoys petting if it involves ear rubs, chest rubs, chin scratches, or all of the above. It is fun to watch how much she appreciates being pet. Don’t be surprised if Tessa climbs into your lap for cuddle time. She’s hoping to not only score additional petting, but brushing as well.
