A major dust storm warning is in affect for the south East Valley until 4 p.m. on Monday, pushed in by thunderstorms rolling through northwest and northern Pinal County, according to the National Weather Service in Phoenix.

The dust storm, which is being created by an outflow boundary generated from winds of up to 45 miles per hour from the east, will cover an area about 30 miles wide, according to James Sawtelle, meteorologist for the National Weather Service.

Because of the dust storm, visibility will be limited to about one-fourth of a mile, Sawtelle said.
