The warm wave of temperatures Valley residents have been enjoying is about to change.
A low-pressure system moving in from California that is expected to begin riding across the state on Wednesday night, will be bringing in more moisture and a cold front that will cause temperatures to drop and boost the chance for rain showers, according to Steve Sipple, a meteorologist for the National Weather Service in Phoenix.
“It will cause a major change,” Sipple said. “It will be cooler than normal.”
Throughout the day Wednesday, the Valley is expected to see temperatures between 71 to 76, but through the night temps will drop between 42 to 52, Sipple said.
Although it will be slightly sunny on Thursday, there will be a 20 percent chance of rain later in the day with highs of 61 to 66 and lows of the mid-30s to the mid-40s during the night.
Friday and Saturday will remain partly cloudy with a 30 percent chance of rain on Saturday.
“Those temperatures are applicable to the Valley as well as the East Valley,” Sipple said.
