Election Day temperatures will be far below normal for this time of year, with highs Tuesday expected to be in the low to mid 80s, according to the National Weather Service.

Tuesday should be partly sunny, with winds reaching 15 mph to 25 mph. The evening lows could be in the mid-50s to mid-60s with continued wind.

A low pressure system moving in Arizona from the Pacific is bringing the cooler temperatures. Normal temperatures for mid-May are in the mid-90s.

Temperatures will creep back up Wednesday with highs between 86 and 91.

At this point, there are no triple digit predictions for the week. On average, the Valley hits 100 degrees on May 1, though the earliest has been March 26 and the latest, June 18.
