The Valley could see severe weather patterns Thursday as a low pressure system moves west from New Mexico and interacts with a very moist air mass, according to the National Weather Service website.
Showers and thunderstorms will develop over the Valley and southeast Arizona mountains later today. There is a chance for flash flooding in parts of Arizona. The Valley is under a hazardous weather outlook since the storm system may bring strong, possibly damaging, winds.
The high temperature Thursday could reach 99 to 104.
Parts of Mesa, Tempe and Chandler received as much as 0.59 inches of rain during Wednesday night's monsoon activity. Parts of Gilbert saw 0.43 inches of rain. Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport reported 0.03 inches of rain.
The weather service is calling for a 20 percent to 40 percent chance for rain on Friday, with high temperatures of 96 to 1010, again below normal.
