Police detectives charged a Glendale woman Wednesday with second-degree murder in the death of her infant daughter, Candelaria Linares-Garcia.
On Sept. 18, Glendale police responded to a home near 59th and Glendale avenues in response to a call of an unresponsive infant. The child was transported to a local hospital, where she was pronounced dead. An autopsy was conducted, and police conducted a search for the girl's mother after receiving the results of the autopsy, police said.
At 2 p.m. Wednesday, Veronica Marie Linares was taken into custody at an apartment complex in the area of 43rd Avenue and Camelback Road.
Shortly after the police interivewed her, Linares was arrested and booked into Glendale City Jail.
