Craftsman Court in downtown Scottsdale will serve as the backdrop for custom and vintage cars from 5 p.m. to 2 a.m. Friday and May 30.

Craftsman Court is on the west side of Scottsdale Road between Fifth and Third avenues.

Kids, adults can win prizes by reading

Residents can earn prizes through the Scottsdale Library’s Summer Reading Program’s “Scottsdale Reads This Summer.”

The program begins Tuesday and continues through July.

Categories include:

• Children age 3 and younger: “Read to Me” club — parents and kids who complete specified activities can claim a prize.

• Children ages 4-12: “Read Your Way to the Ballpark”— complete a reading log and win a ticket to an Arizona Diamondbacks baseball game.

• Teens ages 12-18: “Read the Text … Get the Message” — read books to win Harkins movie passes, flash drives and a chance to win an iPod.

Adults: “Go for the Gold” — read to be entered into drawings for sporting events packages.

Golf tournament aids leukemia fight

The fourth annual Links Fore Leukemia Golf Tournament, benefiting the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, will take place June 9 at Grayhawk Golf Club, 8620 E. Thompson Peak Parkway.

Registration and check-in begins at 11 a.m., and tee time is 1 p.m.

The event will conclude with a catered reception on the Grayhawk grounds, with a live and silent auction.

All proceeds benefit the society’s programs of patient services, public education, financial aid and research.
