More than 700 are expected to participate in the annual running of the bulls in Cave Creek.

And this year the top runner will earn the title of champion bull runner with a $1,000 prize. The event is set to begin Saturday with scheduled runs of 12 bulls every hour.

Promoter Phil Immordino says this year the bull run will be promoted as the newest extreme sport.

The run with bulls in the small town of Cave Creek, Ariz., about an hour north of Phoenix, is similar to the more famous bull run in Pamplona, Spain. However, the Cave Creek run uses less aggressive rodeo bulls instead of fighting bulls.

No one has been killed or seriously injured in any of Immordino's previously organized bull runs.

Well, as long as nobody has ever been hurt I guess it's OK. Sort of like feeding the animals in Yellowstone?
