A Scottsdale woman was severely injured Thursday when she crashed into an oncoming Land Rover while making a left turn, police said.
Diane D. Martin, 55, was driving a van west on Chaparral Road about 7 a.m. when she made a left turn onto Granite Reef Road, crashing into the oncoming Land Rover, which then crashed into a pickup, police said.
Martin was in critical condition at Scottsdale Healthcare Osborn hospital, a hospital spokeswoman said.
The drivers of the two other vehicles, both 29-yearold men, were treated and released for minor injuries at the hospital, police said.
The intersection was closed for about four hours while police investigated. No citations had been issued.
The crash is the second at a Chaparral Road intersection this week.
Paul Myers, 29, of Scottsdale was killed late Monday after William Ward, 30, ran a red light at Chaparral and Hayden roads and crashed his pickup truck into Myers’ car, police said. Ward was arrested on suspicion of reckless manslaughter.
