Scottsdale residents are invited to learn a new lifesaving technique for those experiencing cardiac arrest.

The Scottsdale Fire Department announced that it will present a free workshop 7 p.m. Wednesday in the main floor conference room at Scottsdale Healthcare Osborn hospital, 7400 E. Osborn Road.

In addition to receiving tips on how to respond to cardiac emergencies and to call 911, firefighters will teach participants a CPR technique called continuous chest compressions, or CCC.

Advance registration for the class is encouraged, but walk-ins are welcome.

To sign up, visit www.scottsdaleaz.gov/fire or call (480) 312-1815.
