1,200 expected for Mad Mud Run

MacDonald’s Ranch in north Scottsdale is hosting the first Mad Mud Run on Saturday , an obstacle course designed for participants of all ages.

So far, 1,200 adults and children have registered. Participants are required to attend a mandatory meeting at 7:45 a.m. The race begins at 8:10 a.m. The 5-mile obstacle course will feature mud pits as obstacles.

Registration closed on Tuesday, but if you still want to participate in the race, contact Rick Eastman at

and bring a $65 check made out to Sierra Adventure Sports to REI, located at 12634 N. Paradise Village Parkway in Phoenix .

Proceeds go to the Foundation for Burns and Trauma in Phoenix.
