Kent Brady, owner of Kentec Builders LLC, was indicted earlier this month by the Maricopa County Attorney's Office on three counts of fraudulent schemes in connection with taking money from customers and failing to complete construction projects.

According to an investigation launched by the office, in one instance Brady's company received more than $100,000 from a Scottsdale couple for a home remodeling project. Work began in January 2005 and by August 2005, it was alleged that Brady abandoned the project.

In another case, a Scottsdale couple paid Brady $26,000 in September 2006 for a remodeling job. Although he did some demolition at the site, he didn't do further work, according to the county attorney's office.
