A 39-year-old man was injured by a pellet Wednesday night while riding his bike on Thomas Road near 42nd Street in Phoenix.
Police spokesman Sgt. Andy Hill said the shooting doesn’t appear to be related to the spate of random shootings, some fatal, by the Serial Shooter.
The injured man called police from a nearby 7-Eleven convenience store after he felt something hit him about 8 p.m., Hill said. He was taken to Scottsdale Healthcare Osborn, where he was treated for a pellet injury in his back. Police haven’t released his name.
The neighborhood where the incident took place has been struck before by the Serial Shooter, believed responsible for killing five people in 35 Valley shootings.
