The Maricopa County Sheriff's Office bomb squad has determined a suspicious package found in the plaza of the county complex in downtown Phoenix Wednesday was not a bomb.

Maricopa County Superior Court attorney Karen Westover says an investigation revealed there was no explosive inside a backpack.

Sheriff's office spokesman Deputy Jeff Sprong says a call came into Phoenix police from a couple who said there was a bomb at the Superior Court building.

Deputies checked and found a package in front of one of the entrances to the Board of Supervisors auditorium. The bomb squad was called in and technicians X-rayed the package and determined there was a circuit board inside.

A further check determined there was no explosive.

Would hate to think that an illegal immigrant had anything to do with it.

Sounds to me, rednwhite81, that you'd be glad if an illegal immigrant had something to do with it, even though that wasn't even suggested. Until there is more information, speculation like that is suspicious, to say nothing of racist - for all anyone knows at present, maybe YOU are part of "the couple" who called in with the bomb threat.

Carolyn: Since supporters have smeared refried beans on the capital building, and taken part in numerous other ILLEGAL activities, I'd say that it's possible. It also could be any number of other criminal types that want "revenge".

What funny is that since supporters of ILLEGAL ALIENS are willing to break additional laws, they certainly aren't helping their cause....
