Federal investigators questioned a passenger suspected of bringing a hazardous liquid onto a plane Tuesday at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport.
The liquid, apparently leaking from a checked suitcase, caused several passengers to report breathing problems, prompting the evacuation of the plane before it was scheduled to leave for Austin, Texas.
The liquid turned out to be acetone, a chemical that evaporates quickly and can cause eye and throat irritation, headaches and vomiting.
Fifty-nine passengers were evacuated from the plane. One was treated for breathing problems. It was unclear late Tuesday what investigators were going to do with the man suspected of having the liquid.
