1st place: Billy Woodmansee – Fired Up Grill
It’s no wonder that Billy Woodmansee was selected “Best Bartender” and for “Best Customer Service.” A few minutes of speaking with the 26-year-old Corona del Sol and Arizona State University graduate, you can’t help but feel his infectious zest for life.
“There is no trick to customer service,” Woodmansee said. “You treat people how you want to be treated. As long as you’re having fun everyone around you will have fun.”
But he’s also serious, taking his experience and skills and turning them into assets, especially at Pro Edge Performance where he is a trainer and facility manager.
“He’s got such a great personality, and he definitely knows his stuff,” said Pro Edge boss Derek Kennard, who struck up a friendship with Woodmansee when they met traveling.
Being pumped up at Pro Edge is easy, said Woodmansee, partly because of the staff. “I never dread coming to work. Our energy rubs off on our clients,” he said.
And Woodmansee brings that same energy to Fired Up Grill, where he works tending bar.
“A fired-up personality, dynamic service and when you sit down with him, he’s just all jazzed up,” said Joe Busone, who founded Fired Up Grill last year and brought Woodmansee into the operation from another restaurant where they had worked.
When Woodmanse isn’t working one of his two jobs, he’s playing sports, snowboarding or traveling.
“I’m a people person from head to toe. I couldn’t live by myself,” Woodmansee said with a laugh.
