Community events are valuable for Ahwatukee Foothills in simple economic terms as well as to help build community. These events bring residents together from Ahwatukee and from out of town to socialize (build community), spend money (economic development), and also help put Ahwatukee on the map (marketing).
Local businesses have found community involvement provides not only a benefit to the participants, but also a great source for new business. In addition to referrals from existing clients, community involvement is an effective way to generate new business opportunities by getting your company name out there for residents to see and get to know you. By being part of a local event you will not only be supporting your customers, you will also be promoting your business to new clients at the same time.
Participating in chamber events sparks human interest and lets people know your organization is committed to Ahwatukee’s success. While websites, advertising and sponsorships help promote name recognition and provide information about what you do, events promote your value to both the public and potential prospects. The Red, White and Boom Fireworks Festival is an example of a local event that could help prospects recognize you as a valuable asset to the community.
A 37-year tradition, Red, White and Boom is hosted by the Ahwatukee Foothills Chamber of Commerce and will take place on Tuesday, July 3 at the Ahwatukee Country Club, 12432 S. 48th St. This year, festival goers can celebrate Independence Day at an event full of family friendly activities, entertainment, food, beer, wine and more than 40 local vendors showcasing their products to the more than 5,000 attendees.
Casey Lee Smith, an Arizona native and rising star, will perform from 3 to 5 p.m. From 5 to 6 p.m. families will enjoy Ahwatukee Idol with the Ahwatukee Children’s Theater and a hot dog-eating contest hosted by Von Hanson’s Meats and Spirits. One of the new event highlights is live entertainment provided by the Radio Disney Rockin’ Road Show from 6 to 9 p.m. They’ll keep the evening hopping with music, interactive games and prizes all centered on family-friendly fun as they count the night down to a spectacular fireworks display at 9 p.m.
This year’s Hospitality Tent is sponsored by Loco Patron and provides a front row seat to the fireworks on a misted patio. Tickets for the Hospitality Tent are $25 (includes a meal and one alcoholic beverage) and are available through the chamber.
We rely on the generosity of our local businesses and residents to help us provide this community event so that everyone is able to work, shop and play where they live. As a sponsor, donor or volunteer, you can positively impact Red, White and Boom, and we would be honored to have you involved.
