South Mountain Community College has served the Ahwatukee Foothills community for 15 years. Thousands of students have enjoyed leisure learning and college credit/transfer courses throughout the community.

After four years in an office location the Ahwatukee Foothills Center has returned to its roots at the educational setting in which it began; Horizon Community Learning Center at 48th Street and Frye Road. This return to our previous location will provide the college with a more central location to serve the needs of the entire Ahwatukee Foothills community. We invite community members and interested students to come visit us at our new location. We are open Monday through Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Dozens of credit and non-credit classes are offered in the fall and spring semesters; including such popular favorites as foreign languages, exercise classes and general transfer courses.

You can get a complete listing of classes available in our online schedule at southmountaincc.edu or call us at (602) 243-8393.

We are always looking for in-put from the community on what classes you would like to see offered and we are very responsive to requests and needs of the community; whether it be local businesses or individuals. Each month we will keep you updated on news from the college, new classes, programs, interesting features, etc.

• Dr. Cheryl Crutcher is associate dean of extended campuses (Ahwaukee, Guadalupe and Laveen) for South Mountain Community College. Contact her at (602) 243-8398.
