Desert Vista coach Dan Hinds said senior running back Jarek Hilgers is doing OK this morning.
Hilgers had to have several staples put in top of his forehead to close two gashes sustained when his helmet came off and play continued Friday night in the Ahwatukee Bowl.
He was hit flush by Mountain Pointe defenders and never returned.
Hilgers had seven carries for 98 yards including a 69-yard touchdown on the Thunder's first offensive play.
He is out this week against Corona del Sol and questionable for next week's game against Corona del Sol.
