Two separate incidents of self-inflicted gunshot wounds left two people dead in Ahwatukee Foothills on Wednesday, according to Phoenix Fire Department officials.

The first incident involved a man near 40th Street and Chandler Boulevard at 7:30 a.m., said Jonathan Jacobs, a Phoenix Fire Department spokesman. Details on the man or what exactly happened weren’t available.

The second incident occurred around 4 p.m. Wednesday on Yuta Street, near the northwest side of the Warner/Elliot Road Loop, Jacobs said. According to the Phoenix Fire Department, the person, who’s age or gender was not available, was found Wednesday afternoon but had appeared to have been dead since last night.

Phoenix police declined to comment on the two incidents.
