Ahwatukee Foothills News’ most anticipated special section of the year, Best of Ahwatukee, will hit doorsteps on Jan. 25, 2012. Voting begins on Monday, Nov. 12, and will continue through Dec. 7 at www.ahwatukee.com/best_of.
As new publisher of the Ahwatukee Foothills News, I look forward to this year’s contest and know that so many thousands of you readers are as well. Voting was at an all-time high last year and the community’s participation makes this our most popular special section each year. We look forward to once again beating last year’s totals and learning more about what local businesses and services our readers think are the best in this community.
Using today’s technology advances this year will allow our voting and tabulating to be better executed. We are asking businesses that want to set up a voting station to register with us. This gives those business owners a chance to collect votes as their customers visit their locations, during normal business hours.
Each year we review our categories based on reader and business requests and we have only added one new category this year, Cleaning Service. In addition, we more clearly defined the Senior Care category to Senior Living.
So get ready, the competitive fun begins next week and we can’t wait for the results. To make everyone’s life easier, following are the official rules for the 2012 Best of Ahwatukee:
The Ahwatukee Foothills News reserves the right to qualify all entries for eligibility. Voters will be required to enter their name, phone number and a valid email address in order to submit their vote. Voter information will not be used for publication; it is necessary for the AFN’s internal records only. Limit one vote per person per day. Any names we determine to be duplicated within a 24-hour period or any email addresses that are false will be disqualified.
If a business is going to set up a voting station, it must have official approval from the AFN and register its IP address for tracking purposes at www.ahwatukee.com/best_of/registration. The station must be located at the place of business and votes must be cast during regular business hours. As we audit our votes, if we determine a business is unfairly padding the vote, they will receive one warning. Upon the second infraction, they will be disqualified from the Best of contest entirely.
For questions regarding Best of Ahwatukee voting, please contact Kent Johnson, Ahwatukee Foothills News publisher, at email@example.com.
This is a lot of fun, we can’t wait to tally voting results. So have fun, vote often, and play fair.
