Fresh Start Women's Foundation has partnered with WellCare Foundation to bring a health and wellness event to the Valley on Feb. 4. The free event will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Fresh Start's Jewell McFarland Lewis Women's Resource Center, 1130 E. McDowell Road in Phoenix.
The event is open to women and children. There will be various health screenings, including checks for blood pressure, cholesterol, well women and blood sugar screenings. Twelve attendees will have the opportunity to have a free mammogram. Presentations will be given on homeopathic care, holistic nutrition and AIDS/HIV/STI awareness. Attendees will also enjoy yoga and zumba classes, along with samples and information. There will be information on nutrition, dental care, cancer detection, diabetes, mental health, HIV, vision, fitness, and more.
